My Favourite Festival

My favourite festival is Diwali, the festival of lights. Our house is cleaned and decorated with colourful rangoli and small lamps. At night, the whole neighbourhood looks bright and beautiful with lights. Families exchange sweets and greet each other with happiness. Children enjoy bursting crackers, though we must be careful and avoid too much noise and pollution. Diwali also reminds us of the victory of good over evil. We pray for peace, prosperity, and success. This festival brings joy, togetherness, and a festive mood everywhere. That is why Diwali is the festival I love the most.

A Rainy Day Experience

One day it suddenly started raining heavily in the afternoon. Dark clouds covered the sky, and people began running for shelter. The cool breeze made the weather pleasant. I enjoyed watching children splashing water in puddles. Trees looked refreshed, and the air felt cleaner. After some time, the rain slowed down and a bright rainbow appeared. Farmers were happy because rain is important for crops. Even though I got a little wet on my way home, the rainy day brought joy and relief from the hot summer. It became a memorable day for me.

My Favourite Teacher

My favourite teacher is Mrs. Sen, who teaches us English. She explains lessons clearly and helps every student understand difficult topics. Her way of teaching is simple and creative. She tells stories, uses examples, and encourages us to read more books. She never scolds unnecessarily and treats everyone with kindness. Whenever I face any problem, she patiently guides me. She motivates us to stay confident and work hard. Because of her, I have developed a strong interest in English. I feel lucky to have such an inspiring teacher.

Pollution and Its Effects

Pollution is one of the biggest problems in today’s world. Air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution harm both humans and animals. Factories, vehicles, and waste dumping are major causes of pollution. Polluted air causes breathing problems, while polluted water spreads diseases. Noise pollution creates stress and affects health. To control pollution, we must plant more trees, avoid plastic, reduce vehicle use, and keep rivers clean. A clean environment ensures a healthy future for everyone.

The Annual Sports Day of ABC High School was celebrated on 12 January on the school playground. The programme began with a grand march-past followed by the lighting of the torch. Various events such as races, long jump, high jump and relay were organised. Teachers also took part in a fun race, which entertained the students and parents. The Principal distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged students to develop sportsmanship and stay healthy. The event ended with the National Anthem. 5. Road Accident Near Market

A serious road accident took place yesterday near the busy Central Market Road when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle. 8. Student Fainted During Assembly
