He is considered as the father of Civil Aviation. 

  • He was the first Indian to hold a pilot's license, acquiring it in 1929.
  • He founded Tata Airlines in 1932, which later became Air India.
  • He became the chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, in 1938.
  • He established the Tata Memorial Centre for cancer research and Treatment.
